Pinellas Trails, Inc., a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation , exists to support, enhance and protect the Pinellas Trail now and for future generations.

Trail Committees

Amenities Committee
Amenities provided in order to enhance, the Pinellas Trail include benches, shelters, water fountains and rest stops with restrooms. These amenities enhance user comfort and set a standard for trails nationwide.

An ongoing, cooperative effort between Pinellas County and Pinellas Trails, Inc. exists in order to provide the desired amenities. Pinellas Trails, Inc. has been actively involved in promoting the addition of amenities and makes recommendations for additional items and raises funds for the purchase and installation of new amenities.

Other amenities provided by Pinellas Trails, Inc. include:

  • Benches
  • Bicycle Racks
  • Exercise Stations
  • Litter Receptacles
  • Mileage Markers
  • Sheltered benches and tables
  • Trail Maps
  • Water fountains

Pinellas County purchases and installs major trail amenities relating to trail access and parking, and are managed as part of the overall county parks plan. These amenities include:

  • Rest stops (enclosed buildings with restrooms and lavatories, beverages, bicycle racks, flag poles, litter receptacles, lighting, telephones, trail maps, and water fountains.)
  • Parking plazas (paved parking for 10 cars at access points along the trail) which include benches, litter receptacles, signage, and trail map stations.
  • Nature paths (300 yards of natural mulch paths looping around various scenic areas.
  • Access paths (100 ft. x 4 ft. natural paths from point-of-entry to asphalt.)

Remembrance Programs Committee
Trees For The Trail- contributions are accepted for memorial and honorariums
(to honor births, birthdays, special occasions and special holidays). 

Fund Raising Committee
The Fund Raising Committee supports the Trail by soliciting area businesses and organizations for sponsorships of events, promotional items and various other methods of contributing.

Events Committee
The Events Committee supports all efforts of the County planning efforts for trail events.

Communications/Marketing/Public Relations Committee
The Communications Committee oversees the pinellastrails.org website and is responsible for notifying local media outlets about organization meetings and events.

Neighborhood Pride in the Trail Committee
Designated representatives report their observations and recommendations for trail section needs and goals, Trail sections are located in:

  • St. Petersburg
  • Gulfport
  • Tyrone Mall Area (St. Petersburg)
  • Seminole<
  • Largo
  • Bellaire
  • Clearwater
  • Dunedin
  • Palm Harbor (includes Ozona and Crystal Beach)
  • Tarpon Springs

Trail Art Committee
Pinellas Trails, Inc. supports and encourages the use of art to enhance and beautify the Pinellas Trail. Information about artwork currently seen on the Pinellas Trail

Auxiliary Ranger Program
